A camera device (KM1) includes an electronic camera element (KA,AA), an optical element (L) for refracting the light from a light source, absorption element (PSG) arranged between the electronic camera element (KA,AA) and the light source in order to control the intensity of the light incident on the camera element (KA,AA), and in which the absorption element (PSG) is fabricated out of a phototropic material.
