PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker which has good operability for a visually impaired person as well as an able-bodied person, suppressing an increase in cost. SOLUTION: A menu switch 24 is operated to successively sets and changes rice cooking menus at each operation of the menu switch, and a pattern informing mode is provided for outputting different pattern informing sounds of the respective rice cooking menus at each change of the menu. In the pattern informing mode, when the rice cooker is in a standby state by the operation of a cancel switch 23 or the like, a first rice cooking menu is selected from two or more rice cooking menus, and when the menu switch 24 is operated in this standby state, a second rice cooking menu is selected.
