PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding device and a welding method, wherein the arc welding that forms a magnetic-field reducing the deviation of a welding arc is conducted requiring no power source for supplying a magnetic-field generating current other than a welding power source and requiring no control part for synchronizing the generation of magnetic-field with arc discharge. SOLUTION: In a welding device 1 for a stud and the like, a magnetic field forming coil 11, which forms the magnetic field that reduces the deviation of the welding arc in a welding part when generating the welding arc, is disposed adjacent to a welding head 3 in the welding part of a base material 7. The magnetic field forming coil 11, which is disposed in the welding part, is connected in series to the electrical wire 10 for the base material, which is connected from a welding power source part 2 in the welding device 1 to the base material 7, The welding power source part 2 is also used as the power source for supplying a magnetic field generating current, and the generation of the magnetic-field is synchronized with the arc discharge.
