PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a failure that the volumetric contraction of an adhesive when cured exerts various adverse influence on an optical element unit in the case of fixing an optical element on a mount member through the adhesive. SOLUTION: A method is for manufacturing an optical element unit 10 wherein the slender and long optical element 11 is fixed on the mount member 12 through the adhesive. The method comprises the steps of: interposing uncured ultraviolet curing adhesive 13 between the mount member 12 and the longitudinal center part of an fθlens 11 whose position is defined with reference to the mount member 12; irradiating the center area 13c of the adhesive 13 with the ultraviolet rays for curing and curing only the center area 13c of the adhesive 13; and irradiating the peripheral area 13d of the adhesive 13 with the ultraviolet rays for curing and curing the peripheral area 13d of the adhesive 13.
