PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that ensures high separation performance without causing problems such as a white streak, a black streak, or fixing failure. SOLUTION: The fixing device 1 includes: a heat roller 2 and a pressure roller 3 (rotary member) which transport a recording sheet S with an unfixed toner image T (an unfixed developer image) T thereon while holding the sheet S between them, thereby melting and fixing the unfixed toner image T to the surface of the recording sheet S; and separation claws (separation member) 6 which are disposed in the downstream side of the recording-sheet-hold part of the heat roller 2 and pressure roller 3 in the direction of the transport of the recording sheet and which separates the recording sheet S from the heat roller 2.
