PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding equipment and method for realizing stable operations to be performed by constantly maintaining the molten state of a filler wire. SOLUTION: In the welding equipment, a filler wire 6 is supplied to a molten pool 41 while a base material 12 and a consumable electrode wire 5 are melted by an arc 40 generated between them. The welding equipment is provided with: a filler power source 11 for supplying power to the filler wire 6; an arc current arithmetic part 20a for calculating the actual current value flowing in the consumable electrode wire on the basis of the detected current value of the consumable electrode wire; and a filler current control part 20b which preliminarily stores a correlation between the current of the consumable electrode wire 5 and the current of the filler wire 6 for the purpose of securing a desired molten state of the filler wire 6, calculates, under this correlation, the current of the filler wire 6 in accordance with the actual current value of the consumable electrode wire 5, and outputs, corresponding to the calculation result, to the filler power source 11 a signal for instructing the current to be applied to the filler wire 6.
