<p>When an aged person or care receiver is cared for at home by the family or a caregiver, or when a patient is nursed by a nurse in hospital or other facility, it is hard to attend at all time to observe the health condition. A method for measuring biological signal strength is characterized in that a signal amplifying and shaping means amplifies an output signal from a noninvasive senor for detecting a biological signal from a lying subject and reduces noise other than the biological signal, and an automatic gain control (AGC) means controls the biological signal so as to have a level in a predetermined range, a parameter obtained from the value of a signal gain of the control circuit is outputted as the output signal strength of the signal, and the biological signal strength is calculated. A method for monitoring sleeping state is characterized by monitoring, using signal strength, the sleeping state of a subject such as staying in/leaving a bed, lowering or stop of a biological signal, or body movement.</p> |
