PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a barrel for plating, which prevents a small material from being stuck between a lid and a lid support. SOLUTION: The barrel for plating comprises a rectangular opening 3 having the flange 3b of the lid support and the lid 4 for closing the opening 3. The flange 3b of the lid support has a continuous and flat lid-supporting face 30 formed on an inner circumferential edge side so as to face to the lid 4 side, and the lid 4 has a flat abutting face 40 continuously formed on the inner surface so as to contact with the lid-supporting face 30. The abutting face 40 has a merging part 41 slightly more inwardly merged than the lid-supporting face 30, continuously formed on the internal circumferential side, and the merging part 41 has an outer surface which is formed into such a continuously inclined plane 42 that a gap between the inclined plane 42 and the inner surface 31 of the flange 3b of the lid supporter gradually increases, to make the inner circumferential edge of the lid-supporting face 30 contact with or adjoin to the inner circumferential edge of the abutting face 40.
