PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device assuring an enhanced convenience when a passby printing is performed by inserting a separator so that a printed object according to the job on the side being passed by and another according to the job on the side having passed by can be distinguished easily. SOLUTION: When an interruption (Y in S2) is generated during job execution (S1), the job under execution is stopped (S5), and the information about the sheets of paper for the job is called out of a RAM (S6), and the information about the sheet size, destination of the exhausted sheets, etc. is acquired from the control data of the job interrupted (S7). If the destination and the size of the job being stopped are the same as those of the job interrupted (Y in S8 and Y in S13), a sheet to serve as the separator is selected as having a size larger than the sheet to be used in the job being stopped, and upon specifying the sheet feed cassette and exhausting the sheet as separator (S15), the interrupted job is executed (S16), and the sheet as separator is exhausted (S17 and S18), and then the job being stopped is resumed (S19 and S20).
