<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain locations of abnormal parts such as cracks within a natural slope quantitatively and accurately, and to detect the abnormal parts such as the cracks safely, promptly, and with high precision. <P>SOLUTION: A method of monitoring vegetation takes an infrared thermal image of vegetation of the natural slope, quantitatively obtains the surface temperature behavior of the vegetation, and extracts temperature increasing points. The method detects the spectral reflectance characteristics of the vegetation, quantitatively obtains the activity of the vegetation, and extracts activity decreasing points. The temperature increasing points and the activity decreasing points are synthesized with a visible digital image to detect the abnormal parts such as cracks within the natural slope. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
