PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary air supply system of an internal combustion engine which does not require a housing for installation of an opening and closing valve and which can supply sufficient air. SOLUTION: (1) The opening and closing valve 18 is provided in a flange 22 of an exhaust manifold 14. (2) A surge tank 20 is provided in the middle of an air distribution passage 19.
