PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately align the position of a paste dam with the paper end position of a core in the pasting device of a single facer. SOLUTION: The position of the paper end of the core 21 is detected on the heating roll 118 arranged in the immediate vicinity of a pasting roll 202 or on the downstream side of the heating roll 118 by a paper end position detecting means 4. In a control means 1 for controlling a moving means 208 for moving paste dams 205 and 206 in a machine direction, the deviation between the paper end position detected by a paper end position detecting means 209 and the paste dam position detected by a paste dam position detecting means 3 is operated and the moving means 208 is controlled in the direction eliminating the deviation.
