Magnetically inductive flowmeter (1) has a measuring tube (2), an electrode array (6) with electrodes placed perpendicular to the flow through the tube and a saddle coil arrangement the axis of which extends perpendicular to the direction of flow and perpendicular to the electrode array. The saddle coil has two members (8) parallel to the flow direction and two extending circumferentially around the tube. A magnetic conductor or concentrator (12) is placed between each parallel member and the tube with a second flux portion flowing past it from an area surrounded by the saddle coil.
