PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spacer for reducing the friction in sliding contact with a load raceway and circulated parts of a rolling device and rolling elements, and preventing the breakage. SOLUTION: This spacer 10 interposed between the rolling elements of the rolling device such as a ball screw device, comprises a base 12 having rolling element holding recessed faces 11 at its axial both sides, and an annular outer peripheral member 13 covering an outer peripheral face of the base 12, one or both of the base 12 and the outer peripheral member 13 are made out of a self-lubricating material, and the amounts of a lubricant at a base 12 side and an outer peripheral member 13 side are selectable.
