PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hand drying apparatus having improved hygiene by cleaning and sterilizing a treatment chamber for drying wet hands. SOLUTION: The hand drying apparatus comprises a box 1 for casing, and the treatment chamber 2 formed by opening the front and lateral faces of the box 1. Nozzles 6a and 6b are arranged on an upper and a lower faces of the treatment chamber 2. A high-pressure air generating device 3 is provided for supplying high-speed air to the nozzles 6a and 6b. An electrolysis device 10 is provided for generating alkaline water or acid water for sterilizing and cleaning the surface of the treatment chamber 2. A heating means 15 is provided for heating the alkaline water or the acid water generated by the electrolysis device 10. An atomizing port 17 for atomizing the alkaline water or the acid water into the treatment chamber 2. After the hands is dried by the high-speed air, the alkaline water or the acid water is sprayed.
