A process to widen the bandwidth of a narrow band filtered speech signal, especially in telecommunications, comprises dividing the signal into intervals to give a spectral structure and classify as voiced or non-voiced. Spectral restorations are performed (EG1,EG2) and combined (EG3) and combined with the narrow band interval to give a broadband structure.
