A ratchet strap tightener is manufactured by a plastic injection molding process and includes a body (10), a lever (20) and a ratchet device. The body (10) has two parallel strap holders (15) adapted to hold one end of a strap (60). The lever (20) is pivotally attached to the body (10) with the ratchet device to allow a strap shaft (50) to rotate toward the lever (20) when the lever (20) is pivoted away from the body (10). A strap slot (503) is defined in the axle (50) and is adapted to hold the other end of the strap (60). The strap (60) is rolled on the axle (50) to tighten the strap (60) which binds around an object when the lever (20) is pivoted continuously. Both the lever (20) and the body (10) are provided with stops (13, 23). The stops (13, 23) being provided with integrally formed V-shaped biassing members (14, 24) for abutting the respective protrusions (552, 542) of a pawl (55) and a driver (54). |
