摘要 PURPOSE: A variable valve lift mechanism for a vehicle engine is provided to maximize the performance of the vehicle engine by achieving two-stage valve lift variation without using a rocker arm and simply obtaining a variable valve timing lift mechanism, in use combined with a variable valve timing mechanism. CONSTITUTION: A variable valve lift mechanism for a vehicle engine comprises a low-speed cam(2) and a high-speed cam(3) having each different profile, and a variable lift(4). The low-speed cam and the high-speed cam are adjacently installed to a camshaft(1) and are integrally rotated by the camshaft. The variable lift opens and shuts a valve(6) by raising and lowering a tappet(6a) of the valve coming in contact with the lower end by an auto-lash(5), while selectively coming in contact with one of the low-speed cam and the high-speed cam, with a low-speed pressing surface(4a) and a high-speed pressing surface(4b) and reciprocating by one of the low-speed cam and the high-speed cam. The variable lift includes a body(40) forming a hollow pressure chamber to one side and forming the low-speed pressing surface, the height of which is not changed, to the upper surface of the other side, and a piston forming the high-speed pressing surface the height of which is changed by hydraulic pressure of oil flowing in the pressure chamber by the control of a control part.
