LABELING DEVICE AND METHOD, AND IMAGE PROCESSOR

A device for labeling a binary image as a pre-processing of analysis of the binary image. During the labeling, the image is first temporarily labeled. If there are any adjoining portions with different label numbers on the temporarily labeled image, the set of sequential label numbers is stored as a table, considering the technical importance of the sequence. The sequential label numbers are altered to the same label numbers, thus re-organizing the table. The temporarily labeled image is re-labeled according to the finally organized table. Thereby, the arithmetic processing for creating an ideal labeled image necessary to analyze a complex image such as a three-dimensional image is made efficient.
