摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoelectric material and the manufacturing method of the same capable of coping with both of a high performance index and a high yield. SOLUTION: The thermoelectric material 3a contains at least one kind of element selected from a group consisting of Bi and Sb as well as at least one kind of element selected from a group consisting of Te and Se, is placed between dies 2, and a pair of surfaces parallel to a pressurizing direction are confined to pressurize by a punch 1 while heating the same in inert gas atmosphere and crush the height (h) of the thermoelectric material 3a more than 50% to roll into a direction orthogonal to the pressurizing direction and parallel to the confined surfaces whereby the thermoelectric material 3b having a height H is obtained. The configuration of the thermoelectric material 3a is specified such that a ratio of the height (h) of the thermoelectric material 3a to the length (b) of a side which is not changed by a plastic deformation work or an aspect ratioγand the reduction ratio R of the height (h) of the thermoelectric material 3a due to the plastic deformation shown by the height H of the same material 3b satisfy the formulae of (1-R)/4≤γ≤4x(1-R), R=(h-H)/h>0.5 andγ=b/h.
