PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body structure for a vehicle having high energy absorption efficiency in collision of the vehicle. SOLUTION: This structure includes a cowl panel 7 having a front wall 9, a rear wall 10, a bottom wall 11, and an upper wall 12 of which the front end part 13 is free. The cowl panel 7 extends in the width direction of a vehicle body 2. A unit support deck 25 for supporting a wiper unit 21 is disposed inside the cowl panel 7. The unit support deck 25 has a pair of leg walls 26, 26 fixed at the bottom wall 11 and the rear wall 10 of the cowl panel 7. A louver 8 is positioned on an upper side of the cowl panel 7, an energy absorbing plate 42 is provided on a lower side at part of the louver 8 adjacent to the wiper unit 21, a front end part of an energy absorbing plate 42 is fixed at the front wall 9 of the cowl panel 7, and the rear end part is fixed at the upper wall 12. An external force F is applied to the louver 8, the louver 8 is received by the energy absorbing plate 42 when it deforms, and the external force is dispersed to efficiently absorb the energy.
