UPPER LOCKING DEVICE OF AUTOMOBILE DOOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an upper locking device of an automobile door which does not cause biting in a door inner panel and can be opened even if a striker is deformed in collision.

SOLUTION: The upper locking device of an automobile includes an upper locking unit 12 having a ratch 12a fitted to the reverse side against the pivoting side at the upper side of the automobile door 2 and a striker 11 provided to the car body according to the upper locking unit in the closed state of the door and protruding to the sideways outside from the car body. The upper locking unit is arranged between the striker and the door inner panel 2a edge in the closed state of the door. A biting preventive bracket 14 having a receiving face 14d regulating the relative movement to the front and rear direction of the striker is provided.
