PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of magnetic recording medium by which a piperidine compound contained in a magnetic layer, a soft magnetic layer or a non-magnetic layer does not bleed out onto the surface of the magnetic layer and the piperidine compound is not volatilized and the stabilizing function is not lost during preservation even when a magnetic recording medium is preserved for a long period of time and to provide the magnetic recording medium. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of magnetic recording medium includes a step for providing the magnetic layer by applying and drying a coating liquid containing ferromagnetic powder and a binder on a substrate directly or via a non-magnetic layer. An isocyanate compound and a piperidine compound having a functional group reacting with an isocyanate group are added into the coating liquid. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
