<p>PURPOSE: A functional additive containing a UV-absorbing substituent and an ink composition containing the additive are provided, to improve light resistance, wettability and stability for coloring agent of an ink composition. CONSTITUTION: The functional additive is a 2-methoxyphenol derivative represented by the formula 1, wherein R1 is a substituted or unsubstituted alkylene group of C1-C20, a substituted or unsubstituted alkenylene group of C1-C20, a substituted or unsubstituted alkynylene group of C1-C20, a substituted or unsubstituted arylene group of C6-C30, a substituted or unsubstituted arylalkylene group of C6-C30, a substituted or unsubstituted heteroalkylene group of C1-C30, a substituted or unsubstituted heteroarylene group of C6-C30, or a substituted or unsubstituted heteroarylalkylene group of C6-C30; X is -O-, -NR-, -N=N-, -S-, -P-, -C(=O)-NR-, -NR-C(=O)-, -S(=O)(=O)O-, -C(=O)O-, -O-C(=O)-, -P(=O)O-, -C(=O)-O-C(=O)-, -C(=O)-S-C(=O)-, -C(=O)-NR-C(=O)-, -C(=N)-O-C(=N)-, -C(=S)-O-C(=S)-, -C(=N)-NR-C(=N)-, -C(=S)-NR-C(=S)-, -C(=N)-S-C(=N)- or -C(=S)-S-C(=S)- (wherein R is H or an alkyl group of C1-C5); and Y is a substituted or unsubstituted alcohol of C1-C20, a substituted or unsubstituted diol of C1-C20, a triol of C1-C20, a polyvalent alcohol of C1-C20, a hydroxyalkyloxyalkyl group of C2-C20, a dialkylaminoalkyl group of C3-C30, a substituted or unsubstituted pyridylalkyl group of C6-C20, a substituted or unsubstituted lactone of C2-C10, a lactam of C2-C10, a substituted or unsubstituted pyridine, a substituted or unsubstituted imidazole, hydrazine, hydrazone, a primary, secondary and tertiary amine, a heteroaryl group of C6-C20, a heteroarylalkyl group of C6-C20, a substituted or unsubstituted heteroarylalkenyl group of C6-C20 and a substituted or unsubstituted heterocycloalkyl group of C3-C20. The composition comprises the 2-methoxyphenol derivative; an aqueous liquid medium; and a coloring agent.</p> |
