PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage battery diagnostic device for diagnosing the storage battery to be used for an emergency power supply, an interruptible power supply and an operation power supply . SOLUTION: The storage battery diagnostic device is composed of a current control part 4 connected between terminals of a storage battery 5 and controls current necessary for diagnosis, a current detecting part 1 detecting/measuring discharge current from the storage battery 5, a voltage detecting part 2 detecting/measuring the terminal voltage of the storage battery 5, and a main control part 3 including a voltage, current storage part 3d wherein values of the current and voltage detected with the current detecting part 1 and with the voltage detecting part 2 are stored. The main control part 3 controls so that the storage battery 5 is made to discharge current necessary for the diagnosis for a short time, to measure current discharge current of the storage battery 5, and terminal voltages while discharging, and at the time of recovering after the discharge for several times with the elapse of time. A circuit breaker is not included in the constitutional elements, therefore, miniaturization, reliability of a contact and reducing capacity of the power supply can be attained.
