PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminated body having a gas barrier film with high barrier property and also excellent transparency, and its forming method; a packaging container using the barrier film; and the laminated body used for an image display medium or the like. SOLUTION: The gas barrier film 3 is provided on at least one face of a substrate 2. The laminated body 1 having the gas barrier film without damage to the film, and with excellent barrier property and also excellent transparency can be formed by heat-treating the gas barrier film 3 with silicon nitride and/or oxide nitride silicon. Further the barrier film provided with dimensional stability of a substrate film when a barrier layer is formed, also having high adherence between the substrate film and the barrier layer, and enhanced barrier property can be formed by using a film in the substrate and including a resin layer between the substrate and the barrier layer.
