PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair wherein the attaching of a backrest plate to a frame is easy, and at the same time, which is excellent in durability as well, can provide a favorable cushioning property, and in addition, is excellent in appearance as well, and for which the number of parts can be reduced. SOLUTION: This chair has a seat plate 2 and the backrest plate 3 attached to the frame 1. In this case, the upper part of the backrest plate is attached to the frame, and at the same time, is provided with a gap 31 for allowing the lower part of the backrest plate to be warped and deformed in the longitudinal direction between the back surface of the lower part of the backrest plate and the frame.
