<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the electric power of a fuel cell by eliminating carbon dioxide generated in a fuel electrode. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell 500 includes a solid electrolyte membrane 114, the fuel electrode 102 and an oxidant electrode 108 sandwiching the solid electrolyte membrane 114 therebetween, and a fuel chamber 502 that supplies liquid fuel to the fuel electrode 102. The fuel chamber 502 introduces a trapping agent 504 that captures carbonate ion.
