PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the degree of freedom in design and to realize the miniaturization of an image pickup device in a camera which performs zooming by driving and rotating a cam ring having a cam groove on its inner periphery, where it is more difficult to arrange a plurality of cam grooves and an introducing part for assembly in the cam ring without interfering each other than in the conventional manner and which is apt to make the device larger. SOLUTION: The introducing part of the cam ring is provided from an end face on the object side in partial groups and provided from an end face on an image forming surface side in other groups. The key groove of a straight advance guide ring is opened to the object side in the partial groups and opened to the image forming surface side in other groups corresponding to the introducing part. Thus, the degree of freedom in the arrangement of the cam groove is increased, whereby the device is miniaturized and convenience in assembly is improved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
