摘要 PURPOSE: A method, system and reaction vessel for processing a biological sample contained in liquid are provided, thereby achieving a very efficient mixing effect even when smaller chips are used, removing almost entirely liquid contained in that chamber; and eliminating drawbacks related to the use of valve blocks because the all liquids required for performing the analysis methods are provided to the process chamber or removed therefrom by respective pipetting operations. CONSTITUTION: The method for processing a biological sample contained in a liquid comprises the steps of: (a) introducing the liquid into a chamber of a reaction vessel(11) which comprises a tubular body(12) which has a bottom wall(13), an upper opening(14) and side walls(15, 16) which extend between the bottom wall(13) and the upper opening(14), the bottom wall(13) and the side walls(15, 16) forming the chamber, and a chip shaped carrier(21) having an active surface which is formed by an array of biological polymers, the active surface being accessible to liquid contained in the chamber, the chip shaped carrier(21) being located in an opening(31) of a side wall(16) of the tubular body(12) or on the inner surface of the side wall(16) or in a recess formed in the inner surface of the side wall(16); (b) positioning the reaction vessel(11) in a vessel holder, the positioning being effected before or after introduction of the liquid into the chamber; and (c) moving the vessel holder along a predetermined trajectory for causing a relative motion of the liquid contained in the chamber with respect to the active surface of the chip shaped carrier(21).
