PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL (electroluminescent) element facilitating injection of positive holes from a positive electrode by using a positive electrode buffer material having high positive hole transporting capability and heat resistance, and having high luminous efficiency and a long service life. SOLUTION: This organic electroluminescent element has at least a positive electrode buffer layer, a positive hole transportation layer and a luminescent layer, and is formed with a laminated structure.
