PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning device for welding which hardly generates the internal stress by welding heat in joining workpieces consisting of a plurality of component parts by using the positioning device. SOLUTION: A body frame complete 2 of a car body frame for a two-wheeled vehicle as the workpiece comprises as follows: a bridge upper frame 12 is attached to a fixing member 9 fixed to a base plate 4; a bridge under frame 13 is attached to a fixing member 10: a left side frame 14 is attached to a movable member 7 slidable with a guide rail 5 of the base plate 4: a right side frame 15 is attached to a movable member 8 slidable with a guide rail 6; junctions (a) to (d) of the frame complete 2 generate the strain by the thermal shrinkage after joining by welding but since the moving members 7 and 8 fixing the left and right side frames 14 and 15 slide according to the strain, the internal stress does not remain.
