<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bar code reader capable of securing the reading performance of a bar code whose density is high, and securing the reading performance in a wide range for a bar code whose density is middle and low. <P>SOLUTION: This bar code reader is provided with a light source means 1 for emitting a first light and a second light whose wavelength is different, a light condensing lens 2 for converging lights emitted from the light source means 1, a scanning means 5 for deflecting the collected lights from the light condensing lens 2, and for scanning a bar code on a bar code face 6, a driving control means 23 for controlling the driving of the light source means 1 in order to make the light source means 1 alternately emit the first light and the second light and a light receiving means 9 for receiving the first light and the second light reflected on the bar code face 6. Then, the bar code is alternately scanned with the first light and the second light, and the bar code is read based on the output of the light receiving means 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
