PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink tank capable of surely detecting a loading condition of the ink tank itself. SOLUTION: A release stopping pawl 2 as a first engagement section to be engaged with a release stopping hole 12 formed on an inkjet cartridge 11 is provided to a first side face 1a of the ink tank 1 and a latch lever 3 having a latch pawl 4 as a second engagement section is elastically provided to a second side face 1b thereof. An ink supply hole 5 for supplying ink to the inkjet cartridge 11 is provided to the bottom face 1c thereof. A step 6 having a depth h is formed on the bottom face 1c. A sensor pushing projection 7 for pushing an ink tank sensor 22 provided on a carriage 21 from a contact face 7a is provided to the step 6.
