PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a locking method for a door or the like during an earthquake for maintaining a state that the door or the like is not allowed to move to open during the earthquake, which method includes a releasing mechanism for allowing the door or the like to move to open when the shake of the earthquake stops, and to provide a shelf with an anti-earthquake measure using the method. SOLUTION: During the earthquake, a locking body 2 for locking a locking device 5 of a hinged door 91 is raised by a shifting of a ball 9 which is in a vibration area A of a device main body 1, and locking parts 2e, 5a are brought to a state of locking by an elastic part 2f. When the earthquake finishes, the state of locking of the locking parts is released by a user pressing the hinged door, which is locked while keeping a gap, by a force larger than a lock maintaining force of the elastic part so that the hinged door may be freely openable.
