PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide translucent paper which can be classified, scrapped, and recycled, and can be produced in a small lot at a low cost. SOLUTION: This method for producing the translucent paper is characterized by coating and impregnating base paper made from natural fibers with a varnish 4 by the use of a gravure printing machine 2, a roll coating machine, or the like. Since made from the natural fibers, the translucent paper can be classified, scrapped and recycled, when used for adhering to the window of an envelope. Since the production is performed only by impregnating the base paper with the varnish 4, the translucent paper can be produced at a low cost even in a small lot. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
