The motorcycle helmet has a main shell (1) covering the head, and a chin section (2) which swings between a lower closed setting and an upper open position at the shell. The swing visor (9) pivots on the chin section between open and closed positions. The chin section has a force on it in the opening direction (O), and the swing movement is damped by a brake unit (21) with a housing (22) where a viscous fluid dampens a rotor, which is coupled to an external brake pinion (23) by a shaft. The pinion meshes with teeth (24) at the main swing unit (11). |
