<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a constant optical signal level per channel to maintain a desired transmission quality by constituting a simple optical wavelength multiplexing network. <P>SOLUTION: A monitor signal 1291 transmitted through an optical fiber transmission line 1302 is extracted by a WDM coupler 1281, and the number of wavelengths of signal light inputted to a remote node 1200 is obtained from the monitor signal 1291. A feedback control part 1260 calculates number of wavelengths information, which is the sum of this number of wavelengths and the number of wavelengths 1293 to be newly inputted in the remote node 1200, through a monitor signal processing circuit 1290 and adjusts the attenuation quantity of a variable optical attenuator 1251 so that a value obtained by dividing the total light power of an optical amplifier 1272 by the value of the number of wavelengths information may be a desired signal light power per channel. The attenuation quantity of the variable optical attenuator 1251 is always subjected to feedback control to compensate the loss variance of the optical fiber transmission line 1302. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
