PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily detect switching point of proportional control and proportional integral control regardless of a type and state of a system. SOLUTION: A control method of a proportional integral controller, which selectively conducts the proportional control and the proportional integral control, is provided with a step which conducts Fourier transformation for output of the proportional integral controller; a step which calculates proportion of spectral energy of the transformed output of the proportional integral controller of a prescribed reference frequency to areas of all frequency; and a step which conducts the proportional control when the calculated proportion of the spectral energy is more than the prescribed reference proportion, and which conducts the proportional integral control when the proportion of the spectral energy is less than the reference proportion.
