PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical drop cable which has its loss characteristics improved and is improved in identifiability. SOLUTION: Eight primary coated optical fibers 3-1 to 3-8 are prepared, the plane formed by arraying those optical fibers 3-1 to 3-8 in parallel is held between buffer tapes 13 from above and below along the length, and they are stored and arranged in a storage part 5 provided to a cable sheath 9. The cable sheath 9 is provided with a nearly V-shaped notch part 11 indicating a division position on a plane crossing the long-axis direction of the storage part 5 at right angles and a tensile body 7 which absorb extension-directional tension of the cable is provided nearby both sectional ends of the storage part 15 of the cable sheath 9 to allow the optical fibers 3-1 to 3-8 to move only linearly, thereby reducing transmission loss.
