PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric ceramic composition whose electromechanical coupling coefficient is larger than conventional bismuth layer compound, and a piezoelectric element using it. SOLUTION: The piezoelectric ceramic composition is used which contains as a principal component represented by the compositional formula: CaMXBi4-XTi4-X(Nb1-ATaA)XO15 wherein, M is at least an element selected from among Ca, Sr, and Ba, 0.0<=A<=1.0, 0.0<X<=0.6. |
