METHOD FOR EXECUTING DEFROSTING OPERATION OF AIR CONDITIONER

PURPOSE: A method for executing a defrosting operation of an air conditioner is provided to control a defrosting point by varying a defrosting reference temperature according to a change in an indoor temperature, thereby preventing excessive frost on an outdoor heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION: An outdoor unit controller executes a heating operation to fit an indoor temperature to a set temperature(100). An indoor unit controller detects the indoor temperature of an indoor unit(110). The outdoor unit controller sets up a defrosting reference temperature according to a range of the detected indoor temperature(120). The indoor unit controller detects a pipe temperature of an indoor heat exchanger(130). The outdoor unit controller compares the pipe temperature with the set defrosting reference temperature(140). If the pipe temperature is lower than the set defrosting reference temperature, the outdoor unit controller changes the heating operation into a cooling operation to defrost(150). The outdoor unit controller counts time for a defrosting operation(160). The outdoor unit controller compares the counted defrosting operation time with preliminarily set defrosting time(170).
