The invention relates to a system for emulating a WAP terminal from a Minitel terminal. Said system comprises the following elements for each emulation session: a module (24) for managing the display on the screen of the Minitel and a module (26) for interpreting information from the Minitel keyboard which are connected to a module (29) for processing the protocols X29 and Videopad, said module being connected to an X25 network layer associated with the Teletel network, in addition to a WML language translation module (22), a module (33) for adapating translated information, in addition to a navigation and context management module (25) which are connected to an HTTP client module (21) which is connected to a TCP/IP network layer (30) associated with the Internet network, said display management module and navigation and context management module receiving information from the adaptation module and interpretation module.
