PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for reliably detecting urine and feces, and properly treating excrement in response to the amounts. SOLUTION: A feces detecting sensor 11a and a urine detecting sensor 11b are respectively arranged in a toilet bowl 1. The apparatus includes a control part 31 for performing an automatic feces or urine treating operation in different modes, comprising at least a feces sucking operation, a local area washing operation, and a local area drying operation based on feces or urine detection by each sensor. The control part 31 includes: a urine determining means for confirming the detection of urine by the urine detecting sensor 11b based on a prescribed determination reference level; and a feces determining means for confirming the detection of feces by the feces detecting sensor 11a based on a determination reference level which is different from the prescribed determination reference level.
