PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back projection screen which can reduce the reflection of external light and can emit immanent functional substances to viewing spaces and to provide a projector employing the same. SOLUTION: The back projection screen is provided with: a Fresnel lens which converges incident light; a lenticular lens which is arranged in front of the Fresnel lens and forms an image by converging the light transmitted through the Fresnel lens; a protective plate which is disposed in front of the lenticular lens and protects the lenticular lens; an external light reflection reducing section which is disposed on one surface of the protective plate and includes core members capable of reducing the light reflected toward viewers by irregularly reflecting the external light made incident from the outside of the projector and emitting the light to the outside. More preferably, the external light reflection reducing section irregularly reflects the incident external light and includes respectively a plurality of hollow fillers, the core members packed in the hollow fillers and released to the outside by opening the hollow fillers and binder members for binding the hollow filers to the protective plate.
