Inhalation unit comprises aerosol membrane generator (2) with vessel (4) for a therapeutic liquid, membrane (6) in contact with the liquid (5), oscillation generator (7) which causes the membrane to oscillate, mixing chamber (3) and a breathing valve. The aerosol is formed in the chamber. The valve, formed from elastic material, allows air from the surroundings to enter the mixing chamber when breathing in but prevents the aerosol from leaving the chamber when breathing out.
