<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a name matching method and a name matching system that manage, as common customer information, customer data redundant in a plurality of databases due to separate management in a plurality of offices or separate management for a plurality of business items, and an accounting method and an accounting system that can easily determine a refund or an appropriation to a customer by the use of a name-matched database. <P>SOLUTION: For a plurality of individual tables 11A, 11B, etc. prepared for a plurality of items to save customer information respectively, name matching is performed in every table according to item-based name matching rules 13, name matching is next performed across the tables according to item-shared name matching rules 13, and all groups of customers name-matched and given common numbers are saved in a common table 14A together with the common numbers.
