PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purifying catalyst for improving the activity by using a particulate mixture of several oxides as a carrier and depositing a noble metal uniformly on the carrier highly dispersedly.

SOLUTION: The nobel metal is deposited uniformly on the particulate mixture of several oxides containing the oxide having OSC to obtain the objective catalyst. As a result, the obtained catalyst exhibits satisfactorily the function of promoting the oxidation-reduction reaction of a harmful substance and improved catalytic activity.
