PURPOSE: A method of making tea by roasting lotus leaves and Sasa borealis(Hack.) Makino and then grinding is provided. The product has characteristic taste and flavor of lotus(Nelumbo nucifera Gaertner) and Sasa borealis(Hack.) Makin as well as its pharmacological action. CONSTITUTION: Leaves of Sasa borealis(Hack.) Makino having a length of 15 to 20cm are collected in July to September, cut to below 1cm in size, dried for 2 days, roasted in a cauldron at about 100deg.C and then ground to 0.1 to 0.5mm. Lotus leaves having a diameter of 60 to 80cm are collected in July to September, cut to 4 to 5cm in size, dried for 2 days, roasted in a cauldron at about 100deg.C and ground to 0.1 to 0.5mm. Then, lotus leaves powder is mixed with Sasa borealis(Hack.) Makino powder in a weight ratio of 50:50 and packed into a tea bag.
