PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for a vehicle for reducing a power consumption of an internal combustion engine mounted on the vehicle. SOLUTION: When a CPU 12 detects a working condition of the engine 2, and an idle stop condition of the engine 2 is established for a predetermined period, a switch opening command is given to a switching circuit 13. This interrupts a power supply to an actuator driving circuit 11 and the CPU 12. Then, when release of a foot brake is detected, an economy running ECU 5 outputs an ON-signal to an OR-control circuit 14.
